Three Little Words

I can’t sleep. Too much on my mind. I feel like i might explode! So many ideas, so many thoughts, i cannot think straight. Yet one recurring thought: Let it be! Such a simple phrase-three little words. But there is so much meaning in each. Three little words You are speaking to me. “Stop,” You say. “Stop trying to do your thing your way; let go and let it be. Give it all to ME.”   “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Oh Lord, help me to believe even when i cannot see. Your plans for me are perfect. They are so far beyond any thought and any plan of my own! I don’t have to minipulate and control. All i have to do is trust and get out of the way. You ARE doing a good work in me and that is so good to know because i just can’t do it on my own. Thank You, Father, for this sleepless night, for You have taught me so much in it.

My dear friend, I have a verse for you: “By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me– a prayer to the God of my life.” (Psalms 42:8) He woke me up this morning at a little after 3 with His Spirit and my spirit singing praise and thanksgiving together. I couldn’t hope to resist the desire to get up and pray and thank God and praise Him for a while. It looks like He was very delighted with us both at the same time last night! He is so great, His wonders so beyond measure. I was reminded of David — again — because of all the sleepless nights he spent in the company of the Lord. When we are awakened to pray or praise Him when we would normally be sleeping, our flesh is in the best position to hear Him. Our distractions are few and He can be heard clearly. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever; He is holy! And it is so good to know you, Charis, a friend that loves to praise Him and lift Him up! He IS doing a good work in you, all glory and honor be to Him. I pray for you that He continues to flood you with His joy, from which you will get your strength.
And don’t forget Song of Solomon 2:14 — “My dove, hiding in holes in the rock, in the secret recesses of the cliff, let me see your face and hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” He loves us so much, we are so beloved to Him, a thousand times more precious to Him than our own children are to us. Praise God for your obedience, Charis. May your day be blessed with His grace and strength, as you will be physically tired, may He sustain you, and may His peace rest upon you and your children.
